Dr. Michelle Carlstedt PT, DPT, GCS
Founder, Owner, & Clinician
Growing up in an active family and playing sports at both the high school and collegiate level, Michelle has always had a passion for health and exercise. She attended the University of Toledo where she worked as a personal trainer for three years and obtained her bachelors degree in exercise science. It was during this time she felt limited in what she could provide to clients and ultimately decided to pursue a degree in Physical Therapy.
Michelle graduated in 2021 from Western Carolina University as a Doctor of Physical Therapy. She then moved to Denver, Colorado and completed a post-graduate residency in Geriatrics (older adults). Michelle now also holds specialization in pelvic floor physical therapy treating pregnant and postpartum athletes and women of all ages who struggle with pelvic floor issues.
Michelle is most passionate about helping people age gracefully and continue to stay active through their lifespan. Her trainings have equipped her with knowledge and expertise in that she is eager to share with the community.

We are an out-of-network provider for all insurance companies. This allows us to use all the time typically spent satisfying the requirements of third-party payers to address your goals and concerns as well as focus on prevention and long-term wellness. Read on to learn more about getting reimbursed by your provider.

It depends. Some insurance providers will accept claims submissions from their clients and reimburse at predetermined rates for out-of-network care. We will provide you with a detailed invoice outlining the services provided at your request. Contact your insurance company to learn more.

At a traditional clinic, you will likely be seen for a specific injury or condition and might see multiple providers or PT assistants from visit to visit. Traditional clinics do not focus on long-term fitness and health.
At Versatile Fitness & PT, we focus on prevention and long-term wellness. We offer detailed, personalized fitness programming and have the freedom to see clients wherever it best suits them- at the local gym, their home, or online.

No, we do not provide PT services to those with Medicare. For those aged 65+, we provide strength & conditioning services. These programs and sessions are still provided by a Doctor of Physical Therapy but focus more on overall fitness and health, not rehabilitation.

Michelle offers two service locations. The main location is Fusions Spa. She also provides additional pelvic floor services at Birthstone Breastfeeding & Wellness. Both locations are downtown Sylva.
Home visits will be considered upon request.
